One method I came across while troubleshooting was to use Startup Disk to go to Windows 7 and then use the Startup Disk in the recovery volume to go back to macOS.Apple today updated the graphics card options for its Mac Pro workstation computer. Is there a trick to this or will I just have to compromise by leaving the GT 630 out? What would be the method to dual boot between 10.14 on an APFS volume and Windows 7? I was hoping to have both cards installed to permit me to dual boot between 10.14 and Windows 7. I thought there was an issue with the AMD card however after shutting down and removing the NVIDIA card and rebooting, the AMD card worked again. Plugging both monitors into the AMD card no longer works. Plugging both monitors into the NVIDIA card works. In System Information I could confirm the necessary kexts were loaded and active for both the NVIDIA and AMD card. The desktop was behaving as if there were two displays on. I shut down the MacPro and plugged one of the monitors into the 480/580.Īfter booting the 580/480 monitor was receiving a signal but it was black.

During the upgrade to 10.14 everything went fine, though I realised I had both monitors plugged into the GT 630. I was hoping that it would be possible to have both cards installed with two displays. My primary graphics card is an AMD RX 480/580.
I recently bought a Mac flashed GT 630 to replace the GT 120 as my boot screen card in anticipation for upgrading to 10.14 on my 4,1 -> 5,1 MacPro. I have a bit of an unusual situation I am experiencing.
